Trip Reports
Bonaire 2007
FishEye Scuba’s trip to Bonaire was a great opportunity for us to dive, eat and socialize with friends. Taking advantage of Buddy Resort’s multi-room accommodations to increase the value of the trip, we gathered 5 friends and headed out to Bonaire. The winter blues had already set in and we were all looking forward to warm, clear, blue water and lots of diving with old and new friends.
We were initially apprehensive about the trip’s focus on shore diving and the small number of boat dives included in the package. As California shore divers, we know how much work shore diving can be and we were not looking for work. We figured we would give it a try, and if we didn’t like it, we would book additional boat dives at the resort. Surprise! We found the shore diving in Bonaire more relaxing and fun than boat diving. Not having to schedule your vacation around the boat’s schedule was really great! With shore diving, we got to choose when and where we would go and how many dives we would do each day.
The trip really exceeded my expectations. In the six days we were diving, I logged more than 25 hours underwater and made several new dive friends. FishEye Scuba was great! They made all the travel arrangements and helped us to have a great time.
Now that I can’t stop shaking from my excursions to Monterey, I am signed up and ready for Roatan. I hope to see you on the next trip!
