Cozumel 2008
I just spent a wonderful week at Scuba Club in Cozumel with the group from FishEye Scuba, and I wanted to share some comments. A group of almost 30 divers and non-divers, including me and 9 of my family members.
This might have been a logistical nightmare for some, but Kate Fuquay handled it all with friendly smiles and the grace of a natural born hostess. I'm sure there were "moments" for her, but what we experienced was a well organized, fun filled and action packed week of diving. Some which included completion of open water certification for my sister and my three nieces, as well as advanced certifications for a few other members of the group. The resort was a perfect setting for our group, the food was excellent and the drinks were cold, the dive shop and boats were clean and spacious, the pool and sun deck areas were excellent, so props to Kate for choosing great accommodations.
The diving was not just your typical Caribbean excursion, Cozumel is known for it's drift diving with spectacular underwater topography and the island did not disappoint. The dive boat crew and divemasters were knowledgeable and I felt safe with my newbie divers in the water with these guys. We had the bonus of celebrating Kate's birthday with her and her husband Tom, as well as the one year anniversary of the opening of FishEye Scuba, on this trip. What a special occasion, and we were glad to be a part of it. I especially enjoyed the unfurling of the happy birthday banner at 45 feet down on Palancar Reef.
I'm looking forward to many more trips in the future. Thanks Kate and Tom for a fabulous family vacation!
The Ingram/Wolferd clan love you guys!
Roatan 2008
As a new dive shop, Fish Eye Scuba in Folsom, CA definitely has their act together. The new shop, not even a year old, has all the necessary "stuff" and more, with the latest, up-to-date, top of the line equipment at great prices, and numerous scheduled trips that are well organized (Kate thinks of everything). She is a thorough and patient instructor when conducting dive lessons, ensuring the student has learned and retained the necessary information to conduct safe dives.
The owners, Kate and Tom Fuquay, have the energy and enthusiasm to run a top shop. The nearby competition needs to worry. We just went on our first trip with Fish Eye Scuba to Anthony's Key in Roatan, Honduras where the diving was one of the best I've experienced, worldwide. Kate knows what divers are looking for, not only in diving but in a resort as well. She is an avid diver/ instructor and it is obvious diving is her life. She is excited about ensuring that all her divers are happy and each dive is better than the one before. She takes care of business and takes care of the people who dive with her. I know we will be joining her on many trips to enjoy the best diving areas Kate has selected. Kate has the knack, knowledge and energy for running a wonderful, small dive shop. She and Tom ensure the customer's equipment receives the best maintenance and they check and recheck it to ensure top performance.
Our hats are off to her and Tom for doing such an awesome job in such a short time. Keep up the good work guys. You're efforts have already paid off.

CLASS - Open Water 2007
Hi Kate,
Mark & I just wanted to say "THANKS" again for a wonderful certification course! Not only did you do a great job teaching us how to dive, but you have surrounded yourself with friendly and competent dive masters that made our experience truly enjoyable. Your whole "crew" is helpful, fun, and patient. We felt like we were with friends.
Honestly, before the course I was a little nervous about the idea of the open water dives in Monterey, (I had heard horror stories from friends). However, after the pool sessions, I felt confident that you and our dive master had prepared us properly for the dives. Our dives this weekend were awesome! We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we look forward to more dives with you in the future. I would highly recommend your dive shop to anyone interested in diving, no matter what their skill level.
Thanks again,
Jennifer Coumbs
Bonaire 2007
FishEye Scuba's trip to Bonaire was a great opportunity for us to dive, eat and socialize with friends. Taking advantage of Buddy Resort's multi-room accommodations to increase the value of the trip, we gathered 5 friends and headed out to Bonaire. The winter blues had already set in and we were all looking forward to warm, clear, blue water and lots of diving with old and new friends.
We were initially apprehensive about the trip's focus on shore diving and the small number of boat dives included in the package. As California shore divers, we know how much work shore diving can be and we were not looking for work. We figured we would give it a try, and if we didn't like it, we would book additional boat dives at the resort. Surprise! We found the shore diving in Bonaire more relaxing and fun than boat diving. Not having to schedule your vacation around the boat's schedule was really great! With shore diving, we got to choose when and where we would go and how many dives we would do each day.
The trip really exceeded my expectations. In the six days we were diving, I logged more than 25 hours underwater and made several new dive friends. FishEye Scuba was great! They made all the travel arrangements and helped us to have a great time.
Now that I can't stop shaking from my excursions to Monterey, I am signed up and ready for Roatan. I hope to see you on the next trip!
